What is Steak Tartare? Short description: spiced up raw beef.

Tradition has it that this dish originated with the Tartar invaders. Busy with conquering Europe they would place a slab of meat under the saddle, ride on it for several hours and chow it raw. Well, Polish version is a bit more refined...

Ingredients:

  • Beef, top round, no fat!, ground several times.

Garnish:

  • Salt, minced onion, egg yolks (raw), paprika, green or red pepper, chopped dill pickles, green parsley, olive oil, pepper, salt.

Preparation:

Mix beef with yolk. Form the ground beef into a steak, garnish with the remaining ingredients (mix the whole thing if you want). Serve with rye bread.

Please use organically grown beef.
